Thrive Regional Partnership inspires responsible growth through conversation, connection, and collaboration across northeast Alabama, northwest Georgia, and southeast Tennessee. This corner of Appalachia, largely rural, is anchored by the vibrant urban hub of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Yet rapidly growing population and industry threaten the beloved landscapes and characterful communities of the region.

Thrive convenes partners across sectors and state lines, inspiring them to make the most of economic opportunities while preserving what they love about their home communities.

Thrive’s tri-state coalitions elevate shared issues such as freight transportation and land stewardship to the national level, drawing attention and external resources to challenges on the ground. The organization provides capacity building programs, research, and resources to residents and leaders of local communities to drive meaningful progress.

Thrive’s Resilient Communities program engages local residents in building nature-based solutions that address environmental challenges and enhance quality of life, especially in underserved areas. Through the program, community teams have access to professional guidance, facilitation, and technical assistance to assess vulnerabilities, identify local priorities, and develop nature-based strategies that leverage local expertise and natural assets to enhance community resilience.

Funding from the Trust for Civic Life will continue to sustain Thrive as a Civic Hub at the regional level in Appalachia, connecting local partners to capacity building programs, shared opportunities, and resources.
