2024 Civic Hub grantee

Based in Spokane, Washington, Innovia Foundation serves a 20-county region of primarily rural communities and six Native American Tribes in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Within the region, post-secondary education attainment is low, and wages have been stagnant. Extremist political views and division are on the rise.

Innovia is responding with a mission to ignite generosity and make daily life better for its community members. Informed by local residents, Innovia gets community buy-in through rural advisory councils that guide local decision-making. It recently secured $1.5 million for community endowments and educational initiatives and raised $70 million to support a local promise scholarship. Innovia will use its Civic Hub grant to support two new initiatives: Community Heart & Soul, a resident-driven process that helps neighbors identify and achieve the future they want for their community, and LaunchNW, a cradle-to-career initiative to close the opportunity gap.
